One leased service bay in 1997. Nearly 30 years of neighbors since.
VJ Sabanayagam and his wife started VJ'S Auto Service in 1997 by leasing a single service bay at a gas station. No showroom, no marketing budget — just careful work and a promise to tell people the truth about their vehicles.
Built one customer at a time
The business grew the slow way: a customer trusted us, told a friend, and that friend came back the next year. That word-of-mouth is still where most of our work comes from, and it's why our reviews on Google, Yelp and Carfax matter so much to us.
Along the way we became RV people. VJ has owned and traveled in RVs for years, so when a customer describes a generator that dies under load or a slide-out that stops halfway, we already know the frustration behind the phone call — and how much a ruined trip costs.
That's how we ended up doing something unusual: servicing the chassis and the house systems of an RV in the same shop. Most places send you somewhere else for half of your rig. We don't.

Where to find us
Our shop is at 400 N 1st Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006, open Mon–Fri 8am–5pm. Customers come to us — we're not a mobile service — and that's what lets us keep the lifts, tools and bay space a 40-foot coach actually needs.
Most of our customers are within about twenty miles, from Arcadia and Pasadena out through Covina and Glendale. But plenty drive in from the Inland Empire, Orange County and even San Diego, and we regularly help travelers whose RV gave up on them somewhere near the San Gabriel Valley.
